User Properties

Edit these properties for an existing Studio user or to create a Studio user.

Opening the Dialog

  1. From the Manage menu, select the Users option.

  2. Click Create User or select from the table of existing Studio users and click Edit.

  3. Fill in the properties.

Email Address

The email address of the Studio user.

Accounts (Simple Configuration)

In a simple configuration, you can invite the Studio user to join only one account (the account mentioned in the user interface).

Account Row Description

Role

Select a role for the Studio user. The role determines the Studio features available to the user. An example role may be Editor.

Roles are created and maintained by a Studio system user.

Synchronize Permissions

When selected, the permissions available to the Studio user stay synchronized with the permissions available to the role.

When not selected, the permissions available to the Studio user initially match the permissions available to the role.

Edit Permissions

Use the permissions display to personalize the permissions available to the Studio user. To synchronize the permissions display to the permissions granted to the role, click Rest to default.

This is not available when Synchronize Permissions is selected.

Display Date Format

Select the date format to display in the Studio user interface.

International

yyyy/mm/dd

Display dates in year, month, day order.

US

mm/dd/yyyy

Display dates in month, day, year order.

Australia

dd/mm/yyyy

Display dates in day, month, year order.

When not selected, use the display date format for the account. See Account Properties. If no display date format is selected, use the international date format.

Time Zone

Display dates and times in the selected time zone.

When not selected, the Studio user interface displays dates and times in the time zone of the account. See Account Properties.

Accounts (Complex Configuration)

The plus (+) icon shows you can add the Studio user to more than one account.

Click the (+) icon to add a configuration row. Add a configuration row for each role. To assign the Studio user to two accounts with the same role, use one configuration row. To assign the Studio user to two accounts with different roles, use two configuration rows.

Configuration Row Description

Click the trash icon to delete the configuration row.

Accounts

Select all accounts where the Studio user is assigned the same role.

Role

The role determines the Studio features available to the user. An example role may be Editor.

Roles are created and maintained by a Studio System user.

Each role is available to one configuration row only. Once selected, the role is unavailable to other configuration rows.

Synchronize Permissions

When selected, the permissions available to the Studio user stay synchronized with the permissions available to the role.

When not selected, the permissions available to the Studio user initially match the permissions available to the role.

Edit Permissions

Personalize the permissions available to this Studio user. This is not available when Synchronize Permissions is selected.

Display Date Format

Select the date format to display in the Studio user interface.

Display dates and times in the selected time zone.

When not selected, the Studio user interface displays dates and times in the time zone of the account. See Account Properties.

Accepting an Invitation to Join Studio

When a Studio user is created, an email invitation is sent. Ask the Studio user to open the invitation and click the link to create a profile and set a new password.

Verifying Configuration Changes

To verify that changes have taken effect when permissions change for a Studio user, , ask the Studio user to log out and log in again.
