Record
Use the record node to record a caller's audio to a variable or file.
An example use of this node is to record a caller's name for a voicemail service.

Name
Give the node a name.
Prompt
Enter the prompt to instruct the caller to leave an audio message for the recording.
Record your name, followed by the pound key.
The Add Pause, Volume, Pitch, Emphasis, Say As, and Rate menus above the TTS prompt apply SSML parameters. See Text-to-Speech Prompts.
Assign Recording File to Audio Variable
Save the recording to an audio variable for later use in Studio. Select or create the audio variable.
Assign Recording File Public URL to Variable
Save the public URL to the recording to a variable. Select or create the variable.
The recording is available for seven days.

Custom recording filename |
Give a name to the file of the audio recording. Enter the filename through the expression builder. Click the pencil icon to open the expression builder. If left blank, the filename is of the form <UUID>_recording.wav |
Record duration (seconds) |
Select the maximum record time. The default maximum record time is 300 seconds. You cannot set the maximum record time to longer than 300 seconds. The caller can press # to stop recording ahead of this time. |
Play beep sound before recording starts |
When selected, the caller hears a beep sound to indicate that the recording has started. |
